ABOUT! A fanlisting, as defined by TheFanlistings, is simply a place where fans of a particular subject can gather to support it by adding their name to a list. In this case, the subject is Andrew Jackson.

The following facts are borrowed from this group, which I joined a while ago. I would attempt to describe Andrew Jackson’s brilliance and importance on this page, but it would be an entire essay, and I doubt you’d want to read that. Therefore, I’ve decided on brevity rather than all-out fangirling. Besides, I thought it was funny.

  • During a duel with Charles Dickinson, Jackson was shot in the ribs. Jackson took it like a man and proceeded to fatally shoot Dickinson.
  • Lived to 78, a ripe old age considering THEY NEVER REMOVED THE LEAD BULLET.
  • Due to his wounds, he coughed up blood for the rest of his life.
  • He has appeared on the American $10,000 bill.
  • First President born in a log cabin.
  • Had a parrot, and taught it English, AND Spanish.

  • Around the time of the Battle of New Orleans, Federal Judge Dominick A. Hall summoned Jackson on a contempt citation, where Jackson paid a $1,000.00 fine. In response, Jackson put the judge in jail. Then, when a newspaper editor attacked Jackson's action, he was ALSO put in jail.
  • Married the same woman twice.
  • Hosted BYOB parties at the White House open to the public. People would climb in through the windows to get at the food. At one such party, a 1,400 lb wheel of cheese was consumed in two hours.
